| Global Ramsey-model Simulator for Global Warming Policy |
| 2008/2/27 Ver.1.1.3e release. Instead of newmerical differentiation, it incorporates the equations differentiated by hand. You can choose the numerical method too. Calculations become faster, but it takes more iterations. I updated the pages related simulations, and comparison with GAMS. |

| 2008/2/27 Version,1.1.3e released. In stead of numerical differentiation, manual differentiation is introduced. 2008/2/16 Xnlp released. Xnlp is a software for nonlinear programming. Click here. |
2008/2/6 GRAS 1.1.2 released |
| 1.Introduction |
GRAS is a software to simulate the ramsey type of models for the appraisal of global warming policy. The model can perform all simulations of DICE2007 model developed by professor W.Nordhaus. The model includes the integrated world economy, the global carbon circulation, and the global warming mechanism. GRAS has following features. (1) GRAS is a free software. No additional expense is required. (Microsoft .NET FrameWork 2 (or later) is required. It is also freely downloadable from Microsoft official site) (2) GRAS runs on Graphic User Interface. You can easily manipulate them. (3 )GRAS can simulate all models of DICE2007. (4) User can change about fifty parameters. Original simulations can be structured. |

| 3.Install |
|
| 4.Uninstall |
| There are two methods for uninstalling GRAS. (1) Restart the setup file. Select to delete. (2) Open control panel of Windows. Select uninstallation of software. You will be able to find out GRAS on the list. Then select to delete. Generally, you can delete GRAS without any problem. However due to the security software or other programs on your machine, you may encounter some problems. |
| 5. Getting started |
| Click the icon. You can start GRAS. Automatically DICE2007 optimizing module is incorporated. Select Run menu. Then start the simulation. After the green progress bar moves back and forth several times, you can see the new line on the console. Simulation will over after that total QN value will have been about 2000. My computer take 2 minutes to finish the simulation. Then you can draw some graphs for the output variables. |

| 9.Acknowledgement |
I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to professor W.Nordhaus for providing us the DICE2007 model. I have learned very much about the ramsey type of dynamic models and the method to integrate them with the global systems. Without those intellectual instructions, I would never be able to construct this GRAS simulator. (Toyoaki WASHIDA) |
